International Centre For Audit and Sustainable Development (ICED) Scheme by CAG India

The Indian Audit and Accounts Department, along with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, established the “International Centre for Environment Audit and Sustainable Development (iCED)”. Students with a focus on Ocean Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environment Audit, Environmental Economics, Environmental Law, Public Administration, Public Policy, Sustainable Development, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Architecture, Human Resource Management, Disaster Management, and related fields have a special opportunity through the iCED Internship Scheme.

Raising awareness of iCED’s work will be the main goal of this internship, with a focus on gender-related issues, the blue economy, and climate change. The internship would last two months, with the possibility of a six-month extension. One institution or university would choose two interns for the internship.

Benefits of International Centre for Audit and Sustainable Development (ICED)

A token payment of ₹10,000/-per month will be given to interns to cover daily expenses and transportation. NOTE: The compensation will be lowered to ₹5000/-per month if iCED provides the boarding and lodging.

After the internship is completed satisfactorily, the assignment is turned in, and it is reviewed by the appropriate iCED authority, a certificate will be granted.

Eligibility for International Centre for Audit and Sustainable Development (ICED)

• The applicant must be a citizen of India. 
• The candidate needs to be a graduate or enrolled in postgraduate or doctoral programs in one of the following disciplines.
•Ocean Research 
•Science of the Environment 
•Management of the Environment 
•Audit of the Environment 
•Economics of the Environment 
•Public Administration and Environmental Law 
•Policy for the Public 
•Sustainable Growth 
•Technology of Information 
•Architecture
•Data Analytics 
•Management of Human Resources 
•Management of Disasters 
•Other streams that are comparable 
•The applicant must be enrolled in a nationally or internationally recognized university or institution. Preference will be given to those who have been granted a “Junior Research Fellowship” by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to conduct research in these areas. 
•In the event that more applications than needed are received, the applicants will be screened using the proper methodology.

Document Required of ICED

•A letter from the current institution indicating his/her status. 
•Two recommendations (no more than 500 words each from the professor/guide/employer/peer). 
•Academic certificates can be copied. 
•Statement of Purpose (explaining interest in internships)

Application Process of International Centre for Audit and Sustainable Development (ICED)

•The student downloads the application form (PDF) in the format prescribed. 
•Complete all of the required fields on the application form and attach copies of all required documents. 
•Students can send their applications in the prescribed format to iced@cag.gov.in. 
 
NOTE: Only type in the above Performa when filling out the application. Other formats will not be accepted. Application forms completed by hand will not be accepted.

To submit assignments, students must organize their work and materials and provide a paper on how iCED/IAAD can use them. Because of the mentoring provided, IA&AD will retain intellectual property rights. 

The DG of iCED will nominate a Screening Committee to review all applications during the selection process. Final selection will be made by a Committee of Senior Officers, including the DG, iCED.
